Transmission

To meet the shortfall in the transmission scope, PPI aims to Invest in the following project types:

Brownfield Transmission Projects
PPI will be upgrading, modernizing, and investing in existing TCN sites. This will see the supply & installation of new transformers, earthing transformers, primary and secondary switchgears, control/protection systems, and extension of substation automation systems, and lastly, the inclusion of mobile transformers, mobile substations to aide network failures during concurrent NESI investments.

Greenfield Transmission Projects
PPI will be embarking on new projects in the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry, which are needed to scale power transmission from 5GW to 7GW to 11GW and 25GW.

Transmission Line Projects
PPI will be embarking on transmission line projects to ensure the investments create an end-to-end alignment.

Project Summary

  • Upgrade of existing substations X7
  • Engineering, Procurement, Erection, and Commissioning of 7x Containerized GIS Substations
  • Supply of 3 x 132/33kV (100MVA) power transformers
  • Execution of HV lines are explicitly excluded from Siemens Energy Scope
  • Supply of 7x 132/33kV (60MVA) Transformers
  • Construction of 203.5km Transmission Lines (to be done by 3rd party EPC Contractor)
  • Construction of 5 new substations
  • Scope validation & Alignment of Transmission projects to meet the objectives of PPI in Phase I revised projects to be submitted to Siemens.
