Umar Waziri is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the FGN Power Company, appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to oversee the financial operations of the PPI, including internal and external financial reporting, stewardship of assets, overseeing negotiation with local and multilateral lenders and attracting third-party financing related to implementing the PPI.

Before joining the PPI, Umar Waziri served as the Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company, managing the Kaduna State Investment Portfolio quoted and unquoted investments. He served as Accountant-General under the Kaduna State Government from 2015-2019, where he led the implementation and operation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA). Umar Waziri holds an MSC (Accounting and Finance) from Kaduna State University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, the Institute of Chartered Taxation of Nigeria, the Association of National Accountants Institute of Nigeria, and the Institute of Chartered Treasurers of Nigeria.
